The appearance of an otter in Holywells Park has given a boost to the visitor numbers in what would otherwise be a very quite time of year.

The Bishops Café has been one of the beneficiaries of this surprising increase, as people come and photograph the otters.

Jon Shapcott from the Bishops Café commented,

“The unannounced arrival of a rare European Otter has brought a huge number of visitors into Holywells Park.

“This time of year is usually very quiet, but thanks to our new friend happily showing off their fishing skills it has meant that the local café has had to bring in extra staff.

In honour and to thank the otters, the cafe will have a photo competition – visit the Bishops Café for details.
