A superb Apple Day in the Holywells Orchard with the 100s of people who attended enjoying the apple fritters, freshly pressed apple juice, seasonal refreshments, storytelling and other children’s activities.
One little girl had an ‘Apple Day’ countdown and her mother said she was more excited than on Christmas Eve. Another child said it was their favourite day of the year – some of the adults no doubt thought the same as well.
There were also many second, third and fourth year return visitors who now repeatedly place Apple Day as one of the top events in their annual calendars.
The picture shows the slick production line that was the apple fritter stand making the vegan, vegetarian, dairy/gluten/nut-free delights. “At one stage people were queuing half way up the hill” said ‘head chef’ Sarah Turner.
